Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 27 – 30 August 2012

SURE, together with EVIPNet and REACH are hosting this conference. The aims are:

  • To share and further develop resources to support evidence-informed health policymaking (EIHP) in low and middle-income countries
  • To build capacity for EIHP in low and middle-income countries
  • To provide an opportunity for networking among initiatives to support EIHP
  • To promote EIHP in low and middle-income countries

The Forum will start with an opening reception Monday evening and end Friday afternoon. It will predominantly use small group, interactive approaches rather than large plenary sessions and didactic presentations. There will be an opportunity for participants to organise both open and closed meetings on the Sunday and Monday prior to the forum.

During the Forum there will be five sessions for small group discussions or workshops and four interactive plenary sessions. On Monday, prior to the Forum, all-day capacity building workshops for researchers will be offered.

Posters are invited that describe participating initiatives, resources to support EIHP and examples of policy briefs.

There will be ample time for informal discussions at breakfast, during coffee breaks, and at lunch and the planned social events.

A preliminary list of confirmed presenters and discussants and a list of potential topics for workshops and small group discussions are available.
